I am about to graduate and do not know which FNP exam to take. Both the AANP and ANCC are now computer based - that was the big difference between them. Anyone have any advise? Which exam did you take?
Thank you!
I'll probably register to take both exams basically due to fear of failing one exam and passing the other. It's a realistic option but I appreciate all the comments on the ANCC exam being the easier of the two. In the end, you only have to maintain licensure with one of the organizations according to a coworker of mine.

I totally don't agree that the ANCC is easier...BTW, it has a lower pass rate when compared to the AANP! I took the GNP and ANP through the ANCC and it was DEFINITELY more difficult than the FNP through the AANP.
That sucks, I am so sorry to hear this. I sit in a couple of weeks and I am just sick reading your entry I also took the Fitz Review and have been studying out of Leik. If you don't mind me asking, what were some of the areas concentrated on on your particular exam? e.g. diabetes/TB/asthma, etc...
So sorry, hold your head high and re-take asap!!!

I am taking the ANCC certification exam for FNP in the next couple of weeks.
One of my classmates took both the ANCC and the AANP. She signed up for both to see which one she could get in with the quickest, plus her employer paid for both of them.
She took the AANP first and passed, but when she called to cancel the ANCC, it was too late to get the money back, so she just took it! She stated that the ANCC was easier.
