I would ABSOLUTLEY vot for medical terminology first!!!!

I know med term very well from my previous job of being a medical office assistant. I'm week 4 into LPN school and virtually every other classmate does not have med term. It is done concurrently with A + P, but I think it should have been a pre req to getting into the LPN program!!

I have a definate edge when the isntructors are in "nurse speak". They will talk about something in med language (not even realizing it, but they are just so used to it). I understand what they are saying, but someone in the class will need "translation", which they do very willingly and then everyone goes "oooooooooh, I get it".

But to have it first has been a HUGE, HUGE help for me! Plus as you learn med term, you get a good basic idea of A + P, so when you learn it in great detail in class, it doesn't seem nearly as daunting.

Thanks!!! at my school we have "prereqs" so I can take those 8 classes in almost any order I want. AP and Med terminology are two of them...good to know which should come first...LOL:uhoh3:

I suggest medical terminology first, because knowing the locations, suffixes, and prefixes of words that you will discover in anatomy may cure part of the battle. Too bad I didn't have that option. We didn't have medical terminology at all...we went straight to the big buns!
