Anatomy Physiology vs. Microbiology

U.S.A. South Carolina

Hello,

I was wondering if someone could give me advice on taking Anatomy and Physiology II or Microbiology in the summer. Those are the only two classes I have left to take. After that I will be able to apply to the nursing program at Greenville Tech. I realize that both classes are going to be challenging but I have to take one of them this summer. So, if anyone out there could give me some advice on which one would be the better class to take in the summer that would be great. Thanks in advance!!!

I wish it was like that at Greenville Tech!!! You have to take all three science courses, ENG 101, and P&S before you can even apply.

Take AP2 in the Summer but I recommend Micro for Fall. My Micro class covered A LOT of material for the regular semester and Summer is only for weeks. For example, the first two exams covered 5 chapters and the last two exams "eased up" & covered 4 chapters each. I can't imagine 5 chapters being covered and tested in only a week. My professor felt it really needed to be split into two courses.

That's how it was in my micro class. actually we only had three test In the ENTIRE class and one final over everything ... each test covered 5 LONG chapters. It was hard and one of the most toughest classes ive ever took. But I did pull through w/ a B.

Go to this forum. This guy has literally a whole book of A&P notes that's are pretty easy to understand.

I would have to disagree with those who say Micro is pointless for nurses. I learned a lot in Micro about diseases and bacteria that cause them which is good to know as a nurse.

I would say A&P II and yes, Micro is super hard, but I loved micro. I thought it was really helpful with understanding diet and nutrition therapy, fluid and electrolyte balance, and especially pathology of disease and other illnesses in med surg i & II.

I know a lot of schools will only accept A & P I and 2 if they are taken back to back at the same school (that is if you plan to transfer to a different school)
