Anatomy Flash Cards/Coloring Book...

Published

anyone buy either of these that they loved? my class doesn't start for a few weeks but i wanted to start studying ahead and i know flash cards would be great but there are soo many to choose from!

ANatomy coloring book was a waste of money. I was really lucky as my Anatomy teacher would take photos of the models and post them on his web page and we would use these as flash cards. What a great concept and I got an A in the class.

I'm hoping my instructor will be gracious enough to allow me to take pictures of everything.

The anatomy coloring book helped me because by using the different colors it helped tell the difference between different parts especially the muscles. Although it is very tedious at times it was because of that I remembered where everything was. I also cut out the parts i colored and added them to my flashcards. It worked for me and I got an A in the class.

i have a coloring book from when i did medical transcription-I might use it as a guide. Also I just signed up for visiblebody.com-a 3D model tool-anyone use it yet? I'm taking A&P in the spring so we will see if it helps.

In addition to Netter's flashcards, I also bought Rohen's "Photographic Anatomy Flash Cards". These are actual photographs of the various body parts. They are very similier to Netters. I decided to buy both sets because I wanted to be able to recognize the various parts as simple drawings as well as what it really looks like.

I'm also making my own flashcards for vocabulary, physiology questions, or whatever I feel I need to.

I'm currently using the ebook that came with my text to turn the diagrams into useful study aids by putting the images into a graphics program and whiting out the labels and printing these out. These I will place in plastic sleaves for 3 ring binders and use dry erase markers to fill in the empty labels over and over until I get it.

I also like Quizlet.com (more so then flashcards). I'll probably have all the vacab words up on Quizlet before I write them out on index cards. I'll then use Quizlet to test myself over and over. Quizlet turns your vacab words into random tests of multiple chioce, matching, and true/false. When you're done with a test you click regenerate and you get a new test with the same words or you can add more.

BTW...I'm just starting A&P this fall.

I don't know how it will be at your school but for me buying the coloring book would be a waste because we get awesome drawing to color from our professor.

I too like making my own flashcards.

And I will tell you what helped the most in A&P 1 and what I plan to do in A&P 2, and that is taking pics on my digital camera and then printing those off and making flashcards out of them. I even took pics of the stuff on the microscope and the pics came out great!

Good luck everyone!
