Hello everyone, I'm new here! This is my first thread, and I just wanted to know if there are any good free website for anatomy & physiology where you can test yourself or websites that help with the class . I'm really anxious because I'm taking this class fall semester and want to do good in it. Any good tips from people who have token the class already mind sharing them ? I also need opinions, just out of curiosity, is A&P harder then micro ? Thanks guys !
Well that's good! Glad your back at school!
Hmmm I'll have to look into the honors program. I'll talk to someone when school starts again and see if I can still qualify and stuff, thank you!
Wow nice! Your almost there ! & definately take statistics! Those 4 extra points can make a different in your application! Hopefully get a good professor, I recommend taking it at Norco only because almost all professors in rcc teaching statistics are pretty bad sadly :/ based off on ratemyprofessor.com and my counselor. Stats isn't that hard from what I've heard so don't stress over it too much! Good luck though! Nice! I hope you get in! I won't be able too apply until spring of 2019, only because I'm taking it slow by making sure I get As in all my classes from now on. Are you applying to other nursing programs ? If so, which ones?
Yeah, I really encourage you to do so. Even if you are not interested in finishing the program, it could be helpful to even take one or two classes (or none even).
I've been warned about the Stats professors. Thank you for confirming what I have been hearing. My friend took it at the MV campus. It is a drive for me, but my friend loved her Professor there.
Thank you! I hope I get in as well. So far, I've managed to maintain a 4.0 GPA. There are just a couple of classes left now. With the change to the points system I do not feel incredibly confident, but I know that everyone is going to be hit equally and not everyone has straight A's. I definitely feel pressured to score in the 90's on the TEAS (realistically I do not have to though).
I thought about applying to LLU and some other private schools, but I am not entirely sure now. Our school has an awesome program at an affordable price. I also took some courses that were specific to our program and I am not sure if they transfer to some schools. My plan right now is to finish our program and do a bridge to get my BSN.
I see, I'll try my best into getting into the program!
Yup just trying to help you out (: . I bet the professors at MV are much better then the ones at rcc lol. I, taking stats for fall semester in Norco. Yea MV is more of a drive for me as well, so I try to get classes at either rcc or Norco, this is going to be my first time taking classes there.
Thank you! Wow that's great news! & yea many people don't like new point system, I actually don't like it as well because I'm getting less points & yes it impacted everyone . Well good luck on your TEAS exam! Study! Study! Study!
Private schools are really expensive compared to other schools but if you can afford it then it should be no problem! I heard they are easier to get into. That is very true. All I hear from our nursing program is positive comments, never seen 1 bad comment about our program. Definitely a top CC nursing program in the state. Try looking at other schools and see there requirements because some schools do require other classes. I want to bride to a BSN as well!
Well... I got an A in AP1, AP2 and Micro. Here is the advice I would give anyone for the harder classes.
Start off on a serious note! Some of the earlier chapters/sections may be easier. Don't take it easy and miss out on an easy A to help your GPA.
Actually study and find someone what isn't a screw-up to study with. It will help push you to get better grades if you get a little friendly rivalry going with your study buddy.
I used flashcards a lot. I made my own for the specific chapter and studied the hell out of them before tests.
If there is supplemental instruction instruction available for the AP classes... GO TO THEM! There were times when our professor had material he needed to get covered and it went really fast. The SI allowed you to fill in the gaps you will undoubtedly miss on lectures. Go to every single one if you can! The repetition will do you good!
If there is an ability to make some extra points, DO IT! View every extra-credit assignment as mandatory! You will really appreciate those extra points when you have finals for all your classes and your trying to manage your time.
Our lectures and labs covered similar subjects, but different material for lecture and lab. DO NOT get the two confused. Study for your lecture separately from your lab. Don't waste time studying for lecture when you have a lab practical and study for the lab when you have a lecture exam coming up.
If you fine someone who is anxious to learn, but not doing so well, help them out. Helping someone understand the material will really improve your retention.
I was worried about what I would retain and I studied a little and did really awesome on the science section of the TEAS... So I must have retained something from my AP and Micro classes.
Wow that's all really good advice. Thank you so much for sharing them with me ! I will be using some of these if not all for sure! I have a question about the notecards . Did you make them? I bought pre made flash cards from Barnes & nobles which are netters A&P flash cards. Will these work good for studying ?
I made them. Premade ones will help you study bones and muscles, but outside of that make your own. Just making the cards will help you learn the material.
The other very important part is to study the right information. AP can go REALLY deep, but I doubt you will need to get too crazy. Study the info your professor puts out there.
I really can't emphasize how important SI and extra credit is. By working hard in the beginning when things might be a bit easier, you have more points to play with later on when things get really hard.
You will find yourself in a position where you might have multiple exams the same week or even day. Your overall GPA matters. You need to be keeping good track so you know what class you need to focus on to make sure you get your A's. AP and Micro we're 1000 point classes... I could lose 100 total points and still have an A. It's far easier to track the 100 points than the other 900.
Let me tell you.. you can make yourself physically I'll from the stress of these classes. By carefully tracking your points and getting a good solid start, you will appreciate it later. I went into my AP1 final needing to get a 40 on the test to have my A and I didn't even need to take my last Micro test for an A. There is no way I can explain how relieving that is when you see everyone else totally freaking out around you.

I waited quite awhile to go back to school. I am so glad that I did because I really needed that time to mold myself.
It is pretty crazy for sure! If you have at least a 2.0 GPA (I think that is the minimum) then see if you apply for the honors program. We only vhave 20 people per class and I feel like this encourages you to participate. You can knock out some general education courses for sure.
I only need AMY 2B. I do plan on taking statistics in the winter for those extra few points. I look at my calculus series and wonder why they just won't take it. I view stats as a form of cruel and unusual punishment. I am taking it with my friend and she will give me a kick as needed to get through. I plan on applying in the Spring to start Fall 2018.
