Im in the last 2 weeks of 4th quarter (LPN) and am still getting mid to upper 70's on my Saunders review tests!!!! I know my theory and got 100% on medication dosing, and peds dosing calculations. NCLEX is just a few weeks away and Im panicking! I rarely get blow an A on tests in school! Whats wrong with me?
DO NOT PANIC!!! I just finished LPN in March and am scheduled to take NCLEX soon. So I can empathize with you.
(1) See SUZANNE4 first tip on this board re: scoring mid to upper 70's on
Saunders (this is a good thing)
(2) Taking NCLEX questions and reviewing closely the rationales is a
learning tool for developing your critical thinking skills. You are
making PROGRESS.
Do you use the test-taking technique of eliminating two answers and choosing the best of the two remaining, etc.,
Once again, DO NOT PANIC!!! You are not alone!

I don't know about Saunder's but I know with Kaplan scoring in the 60-70's is a good indicator that you will do well on the NCLEX. The highest I scored on Kaplan was 70% and I passed NCLEX RN with 75 questions on the first try. I know it is frustrating to go from being an A student too a 60-70% student and being told your doing well:uhoh3: Try to relax...I'm sure you'll do well.

Sounds about right. I was an A student too but scored horribly low on those "practice" tests. (I did not like Saunders, I used learningext.com...this site is the one that is on the NCBSN site...GREAT resource)....anyway...I only got in the 60's for that site!! But, I passed first try and that site really helped. Don't go by those scores...they will help you practice and learn. Good luck!
