Amerigroup?

Is anyone familiar with Amerigroup. I am in discussions with them regarding a case management position. Has anyone worked for this company? They are in about 12 different states...a MCO for government funded health programs. I've not done case management before, but it is something I've been interested in. Any thoughts on the company or even case management in this kind of scenario?

I currently work for them and it is a great company to work for.

Sunnynurse-

How long have you worked there? Is your case load manageable? What is the worst/best aspect of your job? Do you work in an office or from home? Sorry for so many questions, but I just want to make the best decision :)

Thanks!

Which state is the position in? I don't work for them but I work for one of their competitors. The caseloads where I work are VERY heavy.

This is in VA. Where are you? What type of caseload do you have?

TN. Have a mix of nursing home residents and home members. We all have over 100. I stay busy!!!

mtngrl- do you like the job?

it is a heavy caseload but you work from home and the pay is pretty good. iv been there abot 6 months and they offered tons of training...

Update: took the job and am finishing my first week. I had to travel to the office for a week and will be completing the rest of my training via computer. So far, I really have enjoyed all the people that have worked there and am really excited!

Glad you like it. I worked for them in the UM dept, now work as a telephonic CM for another insurance company. I felt the pay was good and they acutally listened to my suggestions.
