Does ambulatory experience count toward landing a CM position?

Hi everyone!  I'm trying to work my way into a CM role as the title would suggest.  I have a year of med-surg experience and a year of OR experience and wanted to know if I could fill out the rest of the experience needed in an ambulatory setting if possible.  Would a Hiring Manager/Nurse Manager be willing to accept this type of experience?  Thank you.
