American River College ADN Spring 2020

Published

Hi, everyone! Today (9/3/19) is the first day applications can be sent in at ARC in Los Rios Colleges for Spring 2020. I haven't seen a thread for it yet and thought I'd start one as I just turned in my online application. Good luck to everyone!

Hey guys! Just put my application in today. I was number 147. I applied to the school many many years ago and got discouraged. So I met the new requirements and have my fingers crossed. Does anyone know how many seats are available? I’ve read on past threads it was 40? Also, ARC does a twice yearly application but SCC does once a year, is that right?

I’m also curious if returning applicants have a better chance. It used to be that way before they implemented the point system, but now, I think everyone has the same chance each time.

If you’re chosen as an alternate, but don’t get in, that doesn’t help you in future semesters, does it? Thanks for any insight you guys have. Deep breaths! Fingers crossed!! Good luck guys.

Hello! Where do you see what number you are? Also it is only once a year and the process starts on a clean slate once a year so does not matter if you reapply or anything. Good luck!

That’s odd. Did you use the powerpoint as a guide with how to fill in the info already?

Figured it out!

I got a notice from USPS that my application was delivered. I wonder how long before it changes too received.... this whole process is so nerve-racking

I've been looking everywhere to find where it says how many students are admitted... no luck, so I am going to assume about 40. out of about 200 applicants ?

It took about a week from when I turned mine in to become “received.” Also, it’s more like 300 applicants at least. When I applied in spring, I turned my application in the second to last day and was number 283 I believe. I don’t think that includes mailed applicants, but I don’t know for sure. I’ve heard fall gets more applications than spring so... yikes. All we can do is hope we get the lucky pick!

You get a number once you turn in the paper application in person. If you mail it, however, you don’t get one to my knowledge (correct me if I’m wrong) but you could always ask by email!

Hey all!

First time applying to ARC. I have 80 points, not that it matters. Just turned in my application today and I was #160, but there’s still 7 business days left in the cycle not counting those that mailed theirs I think? Anyways, I also applied to Delta and Samuel Merritt and will apply to Sierra and SCC when the app opens in February. Good luck to all the applicants ?

I knew your name looked familiar! I also applied to SMU. Fingers crossed one of them will come through!!

Hi Cindytex,

when I dropped it off at the enrollment services desk you sign a book that has numbered lines. Looks like it was up to 160 today though. I am not sure if they sign in the mailed packets on the same sign in sheet. Maybe I’ll call on Monday and ask.

Yes that’s me! I don’t think I’ll make SMU this Spring though. My algebra just expired so I would have to enroll in another course or take the CLEP. So hopefully another school comes through! I really don’t want to retake my algebra when I got an A already lol

I turned in my app yesterday afternoon. My number is 181!

I don’t think you have to worry about that, do you? I know they told me there wasn’t a recency requirement on the classes, but maybe it’s different? Because goodness knows my Algebra was AGES ago... so here’s to hoping that it’s all ok!! ?But honestly, I’d rather get in with ARC or SCC, too. I’d rather not pay the SMU price tag!! We should be hearing back in a few weeks. It was Oct 5th last year. But then again, they were 3-4 weeks “late” on letting us know for the Fall cohort. So I’ve almost stopped trying to figure it all out. It gives me a headache. ? ?

Mine changed to "application received". I was so nervous because I mailed it in.

Application status moved from “Submitted” to “Received” as well. Maybe I overlooked it but does anyone know roughly when they will be sending out decisions?

From what I’ve read in past threads, they’ll notify us probably the week after Thanksgiving, though the sooner the better, accepted or not! Lol
