Hello Aussie Nurses and NP's:
I am interested in relocating to Australia, and by the time I submit an application to do so I will be freshly graduated and board certified in the USA as an Acute Care NP, Family NP (or both).
Can anybody tell me how to go about having my license recognized by Australia's Board of Nursing? All of the BON websites mention that one has to have 5000 hours of advanced practice nursing to apply; however, this is also for domestic NP applications which leads me to believe that our definitions of advanced practice nursing are different (In Florida, US the title of the NP is Advanced Practice Nurse).
Is it difficult for a new-grad nurse practitioner's license to be recognized in Australia? Also, what is the payscale for a NP in Oz?
Thank you.

There is no such things as Australia's Board of Nursing. Each state has their own board for now.
Decide what state you want to go to and ask their board. The process varies and I have no idea, although I'd be interested if you came back and told us when you find out!
