American Lvn Student wants to move to Toronto or Calgary

Published

Vocational nursing student in Texas plans to move to Toronto or Calgary by the end of the year and needs any information (immigration, licensure, job outlook....) that may be helpful.

Also, I am bilingual (English/French) US citizen with a nurse assistant certificate.

Thank you for your answers!:)

What visa are you planning on applying for? When do you graduate? You may find end of the year isn't enough time as the process will take much time

Thank you Silverdragon 102 for your reply!

Honnestly, I am not sure about the type of visa that will allow me to work there, and the different steps of the procedure. Would you recommend me to pass the NYCLEX and gain some experience before moving to Toronto or Calgary? I will graduate in December 2011,

Your advices would be greatly appreciated

Your first concern needs to be your Canadian work and immigration status. Get that sorted before you even think about applying to one of the provinces for your license. Then you need to figure out whether you want to go to Toronto or Calgary, there's a huge difference between the two cities.

Suggest you finish school, pass the NCLEX and get a job where you are.
