Ive read it from yahoo...It says that experts were studying the estimated time when will America be open for nurses outside their country.....200,000+ nurses by the year 2025?could this be possible?

I think that predictions are just guesses and wouldn't put too much faith into this statement. They are predicting that older nurses will retire and we will need 200,000 more to fill our shoes. However, the economy is so bad here that few of the nurses in my age group (50+) plan to do anything but continue to work until we are 70 and beyond.

I would say this is wishful thinking unless the economy really improves which it hasn't so far.

The same thing happened here in Canada. When I was in school they had predicted huge numbers of nurses would be retiring by 2010 due to the number of older nurses in the work force. That combined with an aging population was supposed to produce lots of nursing jobs. But now we see nurses not able to retire yet and vacancies not being filled due to the economy.

so the American Dream is quite fantasy now.....Im from the Philippines, and nurses here work for free - volunteer to get experience. Worsts case is ive heard other countries dont cater volunteer exp anymore..

Any way I passed the Nclex Cali last may but to my dismay no license is issued unless one can provide a SSN....Im trying to process exam result endorsement to New York just to save my license..could this be possible?what other state would cater result endorsement?Im not even sure NY would cater result endorsement from Cali
