Am I setting myself up for disaster?

Hi All :)

Sorry if I am posting this in the wrong place, I wasn't sure what this would fall under. Anyhow, just looking for some advice. I was thinking about taking A&P 1 during summer semester, which is 8 weeks long - 2 nights a week from 5:30 until 8:30 then lab after one night a week until 10:30. I work full time during the

day, (unfortunetly, I have to) Do you think I'm setting myself up for failure - would I be better off taking it during fall semester which is 16 wks?

Thanks!

Kelly

Kelly,

I am also taking a&p over the summer. I bought the book aready and have started reading it to get ahead of the game.

I took A&P the summer before nursing school. It was an accelerated course (5 weeks long) - two hours per day, four days per week. I couldn't get into the evening class so I switched my work shift to evenings (3 to midnight five days per week) and went to every class. It sucked not getting as much sleep as I wanted (getting off work at midnight or later - I worked a lot of overtime - and then getting up at 7 a.m. to go to class), but it was nice getting it done in half the time. It can be done--go for it! Good luck. :)

I'd take A& P in the summer if I had the chance.

I took it and the lab during the summer...5 days a week for two hours a day for a total of four weeks. I made it out with an A with minimal studying. My instructor was a chiropracter and he was really fun and made it interesting, gave us our notes printed, etc. Then I took A&P II during the year and had a hard teacher, but still got an A. I dont think it will be a challenge as long as you dont slack off, do your work, and show up for every class so you don't fall behind.

This is completely doable if you can otherwise focus on the course (do not have small children or other commitments)
