Just picked up my books yesterday for a/p I and intro to psyc, and now the real planning begins.
I've pulled out my planner and basically made my daily schedule of what needs to be done when.
My classes are mon 1030-1150 a/p wed 1030-1150 a/p 330-550 a/p lab and thurs psyc 9-1150. That leaves me with the plan to arrive at school on my class days at 9am, and leave mon/thurs at 2pm, on my lab day (wed) I'll arrive at 9 and leave after the lab.
My plan is to spend those extra hours in the library studying my butt off. coming up with a "house schedule" is not doable yet, as my girls soccer starts next week and i'll get the schedule for that then. Then where do I dump housework? Where do I dump laundry...oh man, I hate my OCD ways when it comes to stuff like this.
My planner is filled with different colors during the day- each meaning something else....uuuuggggghhhhhhhhh
I think i'm going to clean the bathroom and get my mind off of this.
I'm actually already planning out my next 2 semesters of classes...shesh!

No she didnt. The reason I know is because the lady at the bookstore asked me which professor I had, and I didnt know. She had to get out the course catalog and find my day/time to tell me. You can not imagine the list of stuff that needs to be completed by first class. I'm glad I didnt wait to get my books!
Thank goodness, although I'm sorry that you have so much to do, even before school starts.
'Nother question, this one about A&P. Did you have to buy a dissection kit? I got the books, but wondered if we needed to buy anything else. I took A&P as an elective in my previous "college life" and had to buy a kit.
Are you going to orientation Thursday from 830-1? I sent back my postcard monday....
Yes, I'm going. I am excited, I know the layout of the school, but am dying to find out how to get on Blackboard, haven't got any idea how to do it, no user name or pw. Any idea?
Now I'm just waiting on my award letter. I have my pell, and my VSAC grant, but have not heard about my stafford yet...ugh!
I don't qualify for much of anything. I have applied for a couple of other local scholarships. The only good news is that dh had an old 401K that we're rolling into an IRA, which can be used for college expenses. But it won't get us through the whole program.
It's scary !
Yup, and exciting (and expensive! lol) But we'll get through it. I am glad that I'll sort of know someone before going into that A&P class the first day! Sometimes it's easier to take if you know a name and face!
You aren't crazy. I do this too. I bought a little DayRunner planner and as I have gotten my son's schedules for school and therapy I have marked them down, got my own school schedule, put those dates in there too. Got my new work schedule, marked those times in there. Wrote dh's school ad work schedules in there too.
If I lose that little planner, I'm toast. :roll
If you're crazy, I am too!
I have scheduled my school and study times, written out a two week menu plan (which we will rotate through all semester), printed out master shopping lists for each week, and am now working on my house schedule.
My morning routine will have to change. I won't have time on school days to sweep the kitchen, do the dishes, start the laundry, swiffer the wood floors, make the beds, empty the trash, etc. So I think those things are only going to be done every other day, at least for awhile until I find a new sense of "balance", if that's even possible.
I am cramming my housecleaning into two seperate non-school mornings, and have streamlined my routine by purchasing swiffer dusters instead of using a rag and spray polish, antibacterial wipes for the bathroom to keep things at least presentable when I don't have time to clean thoroughly, and a new swiffer carpet cleaner for the floors-one for upstairs and one for downstairs- for when I don't have time to haul out the vacuum. I have a full set of cleaning supplies in each bathroom, so if I'm in there and the toilet bowl really looks bad, I can just give it a quick swish without hunting down cleanser, brush, etc.
I will clean bathrooms every Friday morning, and dust and vacuum every Wednesday. I will have something in the crockpot every Tuesday and Thursday (class days).
And you know what? If something doesn't get cooked or cleaned or washed one day, in the words of Scarlett O'Hara: "I won't worry about that now. I'll worry about that tomorrow. After all, tomorrow is another day". Gotta love a girl who can defer worry!
