alternate list for Chemeketa nursing program

I'm not an alternate this year, but I was in 2008. I originally started as 11. By September I had been moved down to number 5. At that point I had to rush and get CPR and everything done to prepare in case others dropped. The first five alternates got to attend the first week of classes, which was such a thrill. Over the week three of the alternates did not attend, so they lost their spot. That moved my friend to number one and me to two. Friday, the last day an alternate could be admitted if someone dropped, one person dropped so my friend as number one got to go in. Since I was in the first 5 I got the 5 alternate points for my app in 2009, but family problems forced me to drop. I got accepted this year and am totally ready for this. I, too, was one of the "lucky ones" to be accepted into the program. I'm scared, yet so completely thrilled with this opportunity. I have 2 friends that are also on the alternate list (#8 & #12) and I'm anxiously waiting to hear if they've made it "in"... keep me posted if you hear what number (alt #) the school is on - I have high hopes for at least numbers 1-10...

So went last week with my friends to turn in their nursing applications. The lady said that they already had 3 people that declined Chemeketa nursing program because they got into another school. So guess that means I'm number 6 instead of 9. She said they were waiting for 18 more people to turn in their application still. So there's still hope! Good luck to all I hope I see you in the fall!

The Health and Science Department called me first thing on July 1st, because I was alternate number 1. I am now officially in the program! Keep hope other alternates, it will happen soon!
