Alright, I'll start! MDC Fall 2013

Published

Why hello there, fellow students!

You can call me Cedeno, and I'll be applying for the MDC nursing program for fall 2013! I've been excited for awhile now, especially since MDC (and all its red tape) has delayed my intended apply date twice (originally Fall 2012, then Spring 2013). Ah, but no worries!

Right now I'm taking my last bit of classes before applying: A&P 2 w/lab, Micro, and Critical Thinking/Ethics. I've seen many nursing students this semester-- which is wonderful-- but at the same time I think two words when I meet another pre-nursing student: "Awesome! :x3: " and "Competition! :wideyed: " (Not seriously, but in a jokey kind of way.)

Once admitted, I'd love to form a study group. Size isn't quite so much the priority as cohesiveness is (though size counts!). I'd love study mates who like to utilize chats like Google talk, Skype, Kik, etc. for times when perhaps we'd like to study something but cannot make it to a physical location.

I'm a visual and auditory learner, so I love highlighters, dry-erase boards, and discussing questions together to ensure everyone understands rather than one person offering up the answer and others just accepting it without knowing.

Ah! I've managed to turn this into an ad for study mates! :o I'm just excited and hope there are other potential classmates here on AN. Please pop in and say hello! Let's talk GPAs, TEAS scores, whatever!

....Also if you take the TEAS twice is it highest score used or last test taken?

GOOD LUCK! :cat:

Stats:

Expected final science GPA: 3.67

TEAS score: n/a

@Candy2 I'm with you I keep killing my phone's battery by refreshing my email every 10 mins... but refusing to give up hope =) let's stay positive... this is our week :p[/quote']

nothing here either

Lol nothing here either I check my email every minutes I scheduled for the teas I don't want to waste time.!!

Nothing here =/

I haven't scheduled mine because I don't want to spend the money unless I have to!

Last years emails went out on the 3rd so fingers crossed!!

Still waiting here as well...

@decepero90, thank youuuu for researching last years date... What a torture! Are any of you guys planning to attend Homestead Campus?

Can anyone tell me if the full-time generic program, which is four semesters, will take one year to complete or two years? I have always thought it was safe to assume that it consists of two fall and two spring semesters. But just the other day, I read on a blog that the semesters are not set-up like typical semesters because they go at a much faster pace. I apologize as this may seem like a rhetorical question for many, but I just would like clarification. Thanks!

Hey everybody! I'm new to this page. So I received my acceptance letter into the generic full-time option at the medical campus on June 13. I am so excited to start! I felt as if 1,000 lbs was lifted off my chest when I first read that email. I wish I would've found this thread earlier just so I could know how many people were in my same situation and know that I was not alone. To all of those who have been accepted congratulations on your hard work and to those who have yet to be accepted, there is still time. Just keep the faith! Anyways, I can't wait to meet all of my fellow classmates at the medical campus on July 9th. See you there!

FT generic is Four semesters long (including summer) if you start in the fall, you will finish in December of following year. If you were to start in the spring you'll be done by the end of the following spring (May of following year)
