Almost done with Fundamentals of Nursing...but?

Published

We are on last two chapters of Fundamentals of Nursing, the rest of the weeks will be focused on nutrition courses and working at clinical sites. So, I was trying to do the test questions from the fundamental success book and some of the free practice tests online on Fundamental nursing, but I am finding questions I have never seen before, or things that were briefly touched on but never went into detail about, is this normal? or not? does that mean I need to read the book again and learn the things that were not covered in class. I cannot answer a lot of questions in there, I am worried!

Fundamentals is a grab-bag of stuff - if it's weird detail, I wouldn't be too worried.

would not hurt to practice afew questions from time to time, but I have a feeling the instructors will add to your "fundamental" education as time goes by.

Don't worry about it. I learned very little from my books but I learned TONS from clinicals. Make sure you are assertive during clinicals and if a "scary" case comes in the door make sure you are the 1st student to volunteer to help!! If you are willing to do anything you will learn alot in clinicals and then when you are testing you will be able to recall the patients' that you have worked with, meds, procedures, etc. Don't be scared! I saw students refusing to try IVs, NG tube inserts, caths, etc and they struggled.:twocents:
