Hi All

This is for all fellow new graduate RN's looking for work in a very tough job market.

Almost ... An Ode To Struggling New Graduate RN's

By Anonymous, RN

Their dreams denied

They rage, they curse

Consigned to be a paper nurse

Job offers bypass newbies

As their frustration grows

New jobs are rarely advertised

Reserved for nursing pros

Nurse newbies lack experience

They are a lawsuit risk unspoken

Still sticking their foot in that HR door

And complain that their foot gets broken

They've paid their dues

Put lives on hold

Hoped, waited, did as told

But that year of looking makes the new grads old

They're now too dated, yet too green

No job offers, it would seem

But exiled from the nursing scene

Embittered by experience,

Student loans are all they've got

And a paper only nursing license

Not worth its paper cut

Back to tending bar in Jersey

Watching booze and smoke galore

The vices I once assessed for

Pays more money to ignore

My regulars still love me

They are a regular procession

Happy to raise a glass to nursing

It is a wonderful profession!
