Hello PA nurses:)
I am writing this thread because I am a new nurse from Indiana who will be relocating to the Allentown area.... I just was wondering if anyone had any advice for which hospitals are good (or bad) to work for in the area.... or any advice in general! haha thank you so much!!!

welcome to the lehigh valley!
there are LOTS of different hospitals/medical offices/nursing homes in the area, all within 20 to 30 minutes of driving.
And many of them have several locations all through out. There is St. Lukes, Scared Heart, Lehigh Valley Health Network, Easton Hospital as the major hospitals.
Good shepard, old orchard, manor care, country meadows, etc as some of the major rehab/nursing homes.
Any quick google search will give you some idea of the major places.
As far as working conditions, I don't know. The only thing I know that Easton Hospital use to be pretty bad but is slowly getting better....
Anyways, just wanted to say welcome :)

How did you apply to the new graduate residency program? I keep looking at the Lehigh Valley Health Network website and they don't have any new grad positions posted.
The new graduate position was up earlier in the summer. It comes up, and then disappears. It may or may not come up again.
They only open the application at certain times... I'm not exactly sure when those times are I was just lucky to catch the application open
