Algonquin College RPN program

Published

Is there anyone who is taking RPN program in Algonquin college? What is the course load?

How hard it is? What is the schedule like ( how many hours per day you spend in the college)? Also do you have to attend all classes or you can skip some if you know the material?

Hi and welcome to the site

Hopefully someone will be onlong to answer your question

Hi Medses,

I just got my acceptance for the Winter Term. I still have to call the Registrar's Office for more info. I'll keep you posted.

Thank you NarsOttawa,

And good luck in your studies!☺

Well my Timetable is out. I have 6 courses for the term and most of the theory classes last about 2-3hours max. 1 Lab as well. Clinicals are two days. So, my week is packed. 5x a week.

Hi NarsOttawa,

Thanks for the update! How are your studies going so far?

When you say 2-3hours max - is it 2-3 hours a day in total or 2-3 hours a day per class?

How many hours a day do you usually spend in Algonquin and how many hours in Clinical?

I guess my question is: how many hours a day are you occupied with your studies?

Hi Medses,

School is great. Some of my classes are 3 hours, 2 if which are in class and 1 hour is online. It's hybrid. Clinicals are 6.5 hours and lab is 2 hours. It's fun for now. I hear our Level 02 would be hectic, but I'm surviving so far!!

I am glad you like it so far!

Also are there are any older students in your program or all students are right of the high school?

Yes, there are. Lots, actually. About 60% of the class. Are you applying for the program?

Yes, I applied for Sep 2016, waiting ( hopefully) to be accepted),,,

Hello,

Does anyone know approximately the grade average cut off for AC RPN program?

I think I'm letting my nerves get the best of me after reading a few threads on here. Thanks in advance! :)

Hello,

Quiet a few of the students in my program are from the Pre-health/Pre-nursing and they needed a 3.6GPA to be able to get in.

For me, my high school average wasn't that great (B+) but I did excellent on the HOAE test and got in. I think at the time I applied, the average was around 70% (as listed on the AC website) but of course, the average cut-off goes up depending on the number of applicants.

I'm sure you will get in, good luck!
