You'll go on the pay scale at the 3 year mark, IF you can prove that you've worked full time for those years. If you worked part time, then it's prorated according to your FTE. The "leftover" hours will count toward your next increment. You need to get a portability letter from your employer that documents the number of hours you've worked.
You have to look at the collective for the specific agency you're curious about.

Hello
Just wondering if any of you that currently work in Alberta as LPN's could tell me about the pay scale. I have been looking at the postings online through Alberta Health Services and see that the pay scale is $22.70 -$29.72 for LPN positions. I was just wondering if everyone coming from outside of the province will automatically start at the bottom of the pay scale? Or would I be higher up on the pay scale because of my 3 and a half years of experience in BC? It doesn't effect my decision to move to Calgary in May, I am going there regardless. I would still move even if I only made $19/hr ahha. However I am curious.
