What can LPN's not do in Alabama in regards to nursing job responsibilities??

  1. Can LPN's start IV's? I know they can't push meds in an IV.... Just curious.

Your best source would be your state board of nursing. At the gray toolbar at the top of the page, click on 'Links' then 'Boards of Nursing.'

I was a LPN before I became a RN. I work at several hospital and was expected to start IV, but couldn't push medication or hang certain solutions like heparin and KCL.We could only hand antibotics and saline soultions.
