Omg are you serious???? 700 applicants and only 50 slots? Is that 50 for RN and Lpn program??? That is making me even more nervous now! I have taken all my core classes and pre-req If I don't get in I may have to revamp my plans and do BSN...I mean when is the next time you can apply for the RN program?? This waiting is literally making me sick.... I am going to be so relieved to find out something I did throw a prayer up for us all today!!!!!!!!!! Will be praying some more tonite!!!! 700 applicants WOW!!!!!!

The sad thing is with the economy everyone is trying to go to nursing school and alot of them are going into for the wrong reason.........

Im not sure which one is mailing out the letters, I know the girl in my class checked with the CBurg campus. I know I am more nervous than ever now. I have taken all pre reqs also and will have to consider the BSN option myself if this plan falls thru. The next time to apply for RN will be the fall at Cacc but I have heard Jeff State has spring RN class. Also Lawson has summer class. There is the LPN option in the spring. Will pray hard tonite for all of us!

Heard they are taking 50 RN, I don't know about LPN.

I know! We really need to meet once we get our letters for a girls' nite out to relieve the stress and strain from waiting...But you know I was thinking you know it's going to be just as bad at Jeff State as well.....Ok going to stay positive because we don't know how many of the 700 applicants were applying for RN and LPN and then again does it really matter :uhoh21: it's competitive and we are going to have to wear our knees out praying ladies!!!!!!

Stay focused!! If this is what you want out of life, then don't think if you don't get in at cacc that it's over....because you can apply to several other schools or if cacc is ur only option, then retake some classes and bring up those points. I think they probably take people who have A's in all three Biology's first and ur GPA is actually a small percentage of what counts for ur points. Last year I was going through the same thing....over 700 applicants and only 70 got in to our class (that included LPNs and RNs). They just don't have the funds to have bigger classes. Also, they had a delayed program that last seven terms instead of five, but they cut that out this summer, so the class that graduates in December will be the last delayed class. The economy is bad and that sucks!!!!! New grads are struggling to find RN jobs right now. Hopefully in the next year or two the jobs will pick up. Also, someone said a lot of people are going into nursing for the wrong reason and I promise after the first semester, those people will be gone. Be prepared to experience stuff you never experienced before. There's nothing like training to be a nurse and I can't wait to graduate. So....again, good luck ladies and I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you all!!!!!!!!!

I graduated CACC childersburg in December. I got my letter in the second week or so of July, but it wasnt good news. I was wait listed. I was very upset, but i kept my head up..i still had a couple cores to take anyway..they called me the second day of orientation and offered me a slot!! So i took it! Really though, all this about how many applicants they had, and how many they take, and the point cut off is just hearsay, because noone really knows. I think they tell people things to shut them up. When i got acepted I had a 2.7 GPA...I had made As and Bs in the cores i had taken, and had 99 on my COMPASS, but i had started cores with a 1.3 because of slacking at my first school. So, that shows you that you dont have to have straight As and 4.0 to get in. I wish you all the best of luck, and if you need anything, just ask, and someone on here will help!! They did me many times!!
