Alabama license by endorsement trouble

Hi, I had applied for my Alabama licenses by endorsement. I sent in all needed information including certified court documents for my criminal history. Shortly after this I received a letter saying that a complaint has been made to the Alabama board of nurses for my self-discloser on my application and an investigation has been started. I have applied and worked in several different states and have never had this happen. Has anyone had a similar situation happen before and if so what was the outcome? I did try contacting the special investigator but have not had a response in over a week now. Additionally, I spoke with a lawyer but they want 3k and I don't know if its at that point yet.
