What about Kent Stark or Stark State? I don't know anyone in these programs but I'm originally from that area and they were always very popular schools with local folks.
Ive thought about those two schools ,but I was really trying to get into a community college. Do you know anything about Brown Mackie in Canton??

Canton City Schools has a program for LPN. I graduated from their program a few years ago and it was pretty good. They have a one year full time day program and a two year part-time evening program. They also have a written articulation agreement with Stark State for the Associate RN program. I am currently taking classes at Stark State to complete the LPN to RN transfer. Hope this helps you and good luck!

If you can travel to Cleveland, Tri-C has a reputable program.
I think that im going to go ahead and enroll at Stark State. Do you like Stark State? What is the school like? How long will it take you to become a LPN?
I did my LPN part-time evenings, so that I could work full time and it took 2 years for me to finish. Once I am actually in the LPN to RN transfer program it will only take 11 months. There are about 6 pre-req classes to take before I will apply. I am only taking 1 class at a time so that I don't have any loans and I can still work full-time until I get into the program.
I have class with a student that is not an LPN and she just applied recently and was accepted to start the RN program August of 2011. They have a lot of information on their website and they also help out a lot if you schedule an appointment with an advisor. They seem to have a very good reputation and I have not heard anything bad about their program.
If you decide to go the LPN to RN route it does not take long to get into Canon City Schools program and you can get your pre-reqs done at Stark State a lot faster than I am. Another student that I graduated with had her RN done at Stark State 2 years after graduating with her LPN. It is possible, but I needed a break! Stark State also has mandatory meetings for LPN's to attend and they review the requirements and give out applications.
I really like Stark State. I graduated from Stark State many years ago as a Certified Medical Assistant, but decided that I finally wanted to go back to school for nursing. I have had some awsome instructors so far! Hope this helps a little. Didn't mean to ramble on, but there is so much info!! I am really glad that I went back for nursing and I hope you love it! Good Luck!

Hi! I will be graduating from Stark State next semester(F-I-N-A-L-L-Y) with my Early Childhood Degree! But Im in admission process right now with Aultman school of nursing for next fall!! Stark State has a very long wait list! Before actually starting my Early Childhood Ed. degree I wanted to do nursing there but at that time it was about a five year wait! Canton City Schools gets you in fairly quickly and Aultman does to(next fall isn't to bad!) I like Stark State but honestly Im so sick of going there now! It's been about five years since I started! I've been going less than part- time!! I've had my share of good teachers but I've had more teachers who weren't the greatest simply because of HOW they taught!
About three of my teachers would basically give us test answers each test!(I was excited to at first, but then Im thinking: How is this teaching me anything? I don't even have to worry to learn it because your going to give me the answers anyways?) Other teachers would continuosly let class out early! At first this to was awesome at first, but then I realized Im paying this school for me to drive home! But it is a nice facility! The admission office won't tell you up front what to do about anything other than your COMPASS test, talking to your couselor, and registration for all newbies! After that your all on your own to figure things out!
I had to call so much and ask them simple things that you think they would tell you but NO! LOL. Anywho...Can you tell i'm sick of being there yet? No but really other than that it's ok! I have to say there are A LOT of students and there are ALOT of people going there on grants or state funds and just take classes because they can! And Dear GOD, If you get MR. LOVE for ethics, RUUUUN!!
