Hi Everyone and co nurses and future nurses,
im trying to get into Airforce nursing, its always been my dream to wear the "uniform" and serve the country, but my dilemma is that im a single parent and my question is can I take my kids with me in the base while working, I looked into their website and seems like you can raise a family in the base.any input or feedback is highly appreciated, I hope there would be a way for me and my kids to be together still while serving our country.

You can be a single parent in the military. Most posts/bases have child care centers that provide child care during day time hours (I've never seen one open 24 hours). One thing you would have to have set up is a family care plan. This is who will be responsible for caring for your children during times when you cannot (training or deployments).

If family time is the most important factor, you should really think about your path. Military will have gone for days, weeks and months constantly. Have a good family care plan in place. You will see less of your kids than you do now, that is the truth. Military has alot of family sacrifice hence why divorce is high among married servicemen
