Did anyone else apply for the November 2016 USAF Nurse boards? I am applying as a fully qualified ER Nurse (46N3J). Today (Dec 2) was the earliest day the board may have released results, but nothing has been released as of now (5pm PST), so I'm guessing we won't hear anything until next week.
Just looking to network with other potential USAF RNs!
Hi, Dream031224! Beginning with these past nurse boards, the AF Healthcare Recruiting Service is requiring that all nurse candidates have already passed MEPS before the board begins. We were granted an exemption from this rule, because they made the rule right before the November Board started, so it would have been impossible to get all those candidates through MEPS at the last second. However, moving forward, all future boards require candidates to have already cleared MEPS.
As for NICU locations: JB Langley, SAMMC, Landstuhl, Kessler MS, Lackland TX, Travis CA, and Kadena Okinawa.
Thanks jfratian, she has about 4 years ICU experience so now I am really confused. Are you pretty sure about the two sites being the only option for OR training? Will update when recruiter comes back online. Much appreciated.
Thank you for the info Concomitance! About the NICU locations, Kessler and JB Langley are the preference locations that are not on my list. And actually, I'll be happy to go to JB Langley. My is daughter is the Navy assigned at Virginia Beach. If I ever go there, I have a chance to visit her on my liberty.

Hello everyone! I've been following this thread since September. I'm applying for FQ January 27, 2017 board AFSC NICU. I'm a prior enlisted and I've been out for about 3 years now. I'm curious because my recruiter is in a hurry of scheduling me for physical at MEPS, he said I need to have it done before Jan. 20. My packet is not even submitted yet and no there's no guarantee that I will get selected. Does this happen to anyone of you? Also, which AFB location is NICU usually get assigned? Thanks!
