Air Force Nurse Rank????

Published

Can anyone tell me what rank nurses start off as in the Air Force. http://www.airforce.com mentions "Nurses in the Air Force enter as officers with the same rank as physicians, leading to a more team-oriented environment." That's great, but what is that rank? I am up for an AFROTC Nursing Scholarship and am trying to consider salary - military v. civilian. I am aware that military will be considerably less, but am trying to find out exactly just how much. Thanks.

Thanks! Not at all! I have been a licensed RN since 1993. I worked Med Surg, Telemetry, Vent hospital (that made me be able to stomach anything) I have also worked in Nursing Home Administration as a Director of Nursing as well as Nursing Home Administrator, went back to bedside nursing as an Ortho/Spine nurse! I was very active with pt. care even as an Administrator, I pulled shifts to be at the bedside at least once a month.

Now I'm still waiting for my Commission, was put on the scroll list on Oct 22nd! Hopefully I'll hear soon!

Thanks
