I'm going to COT in Aug! What clothing is recomended! I have all of my Blues and ABU's, but was curious of the type of suit case we can use and do we take any civilian clothes other than what we wear on the day we fly there? Thanks

I am so ready to go! would love to get a call a couple days before I need to be there! We'll see! How was RCOT? One of my Squadron mates was there the same time as you, she should be back and then to Flight Nurse school! Thanks for your response!

rghbsn; Do you know how long it takes to hear back on school dates with the AF Reserves? I am still waiting (which seems to be the military motto), to hear on dates requested back on March 9th! My Capt said it would take six weeks, well needless to say, we are past that timeframe! Any ideas or suggestions? My Capt is now on Maternity leave and I don't want to step on toes but isn't there anyone that I can talk to? I know I have a year to go to COT but hanging in limbo sucks! I want to plan a family vacation but can't because I'm waiting!

yeah! i am finally in and attended my first uta this month! i also took my pft and scored an 89.5! my capt needed my score before she could apply to cot for me!does anybody know how long it takes to hear whether you are accepted to cot? my capt. at the aes put a request in on 2010/mar/09. i thought we would have heard by now or am i expecting too much! i want to let my boss know well in advance, the cot date that we are looking at is 2010/may/24! anybody know if they are going to that one? thanks

:crying2:New frustration now! The day I swore in again (Feb 12, 2010) as a 1st Lt. I also swore in with one of my friends! She recieved her notice to come to UTA for March on this past Saturday! I have recieved nothing, called my recruiter and found out this afternoon that I may have my orders cut tomorrow. The problem is that They had to ungain me and then regain me in order to cut my orders, however now I may not make it to March UTA, I may have to wait until April UTA! This bites, I am officially ticked. The worst thing is that I don't know who to yell at! Is it really that big of a process to ungain and gain somebody? It's all computerized isn't it?

The biggest frustration is that the office that needed to cut my appointment orders was the same office that put together my oath etc. I do plan on staying, I was never hung up on rank, I want to serve my country and repay all the men and women that have allowed me to do everything that I have been able to do in my career! Did you get into March COT?

Okay, so I heard from my recruiter today, the head nurse reviewed my work history and states that I remain an O2. Rank has not really mattered to me, it just that in Oct. they said I was coming in as a Major, then in Dec. I was informed that I would be coming in as a Captain, no problem, then I Take my Oath on Jan 9th as a Captain, everthing signed was O3. Then my recruiter turns everything in for my appointment orders and they say that my rank is incorrect and won't give my appoinment orders. I contacted the Chief of all Healthcare reserve recruiters to get his assistance with this, I heard back from him on Fri. as well as my recruiter and her boss, they were reviewing my form 24 and sending it back to the head nurse (who signed my prior paperwork as O3 previously). I am 6 months from going in as a Captain, however if I go in now I will have Captain in 1 yr., plus I would be trained and useful to my Unit upon Activation in Jan 2011 versus just barely getting training done. If I fight this and hold them to contract, fighting might take a year and therefore I would then need an age waiver and have lost out on a year toward military retirement. So does anybody have any suggestions? If I decide to take O2 I will re-swear in on Friday.

Everything says Capt. (O3). However I did talk to the head of the Healthcare Reserve Recruiters today and they are sending the form to the Head Nurse for approval, once it comes back (hopefully approved) then I will remain a Capt. (and I will not have to swear in again), because everything calculated out to an O3. Then my appointment orders can be cut! So now I'm just praying that the turn around can be quick. HAHAHA, I know things do not move quickly. I did however tell the Head of the Recruiters that it takes me a while but now I am officially angry, not just frustrated with this whole process.

She hasn't responded to my email or my phone calls! I have feeling that she knows I'm ticked and is avoiding me. I suppose if I email her, maybe that would get a response.

So who do I need to contact? Or do I say something to my recruiter?

Considering the fact that I have already sworn in and signed my contract with the Air Force, wouldn't this be a breech of contract? I have left a message with the Chief of all the Healthcare Reserve Recruiters, he has not returned my call as of yet, he's probably out of town, knowing my luck. My question is, who is next on the list for me to contact, I don't want to skip over someone, but I intend to elevate this because I am extremely tired feeling like I am being jerked around.

I was just looking over the Computation for Grade Determination. It looks like they are discounting my Long Term Care experience. I was DON and ADON which including several aspects of clinical nursing, Including working nursing shifts to avoid using agency, as well as discounting 3 mos exp. at Vencor hosp. which leaves me with 7 yrs exp. Should that affect my Rank Calculation?

Just jumping in here! I got a call from my recruiter today, I was supposed to be at my first drill this coming weekend due to the fact that I swore in on Jan 9th 2010. However, AFRC would not issue my gaining to the unit because they say My rank that I swore in at was incorrect, they said that I was supposed to come in as an O2 not O3. I have had my RN license for 16 yrs, but have 14 1/2 yrs actual nursing exp. due to the fact that I was a Nursing Home Admin for 1 1/2 yrs! Something does not sound right here! My recruiter states that she is going to fix form 24 and resend it, then I will take my oath again! Talk about frustrating! Does anybody know anything about this? Any input would be appreciated!

Congrats for completing everything! :) I will complete everything as well, hopefully in March! Thanks for easing my mind about the monkey bars!
