Air Force January 2015 COT

Published

Hey everyone! I just wanted to start a thread for those people headed to COT in January. Comment if you're going and let's keep each other updated and share any helpful news we learn along the way!

awhite90—For the interview just be relax, yourself and answer the questions truthfully. As far as getting what was promised, the answer is yes. I got what was promised and my first bases was my 4th choice.

kristnRN—What does your husband do? I’m glad that you have experience with Eglin. I have never lived anywhere besides AZ and CO so it will be a big adjustment going to FL and being beach side too in essence. What route are you going and where do you want to end up? Are you on Facebook?

MadeInMaine--Did you get your #1 (Eglin)? I haven't seen anyone else going there.
Specializes in ER.
Heather and MadeInMaine-- I'm also heading to San Antonio for NTP and Travis AFB, CA:) I'm excited to meet you both!! Have you guys joined the FB page?

There is an FB page???

I did not. I got my second choice, Keesler AFB in Biloxi MS. On the beach! :)

Eglin is a gorgeous area, I have been a bunch, and will continue to go back.

MadeInMaine--There is a FB page. Search for AF OTS Cot Class 15-02. It's a closed group and right now there are 13 members. That should help you find it.

Found it, clicked "join", but nothing changed...

Maybe its harder to be selected to the COT FB group than it is for AF in general... :)

Once you have been accepted by the administrator of the group you will be able to see the whole page. This is because it's a private page. Glad you found it though.

Hi All! I'm also going to COT in January. I was selected for OB so I'm off to San Antonio for NTP and then my permanent duty station is at Wright-Patterson in Ohio :-)

For those just selected, how long after the board met did you get a decision back? ANd how long after that did it take to receive orders? i'm applying to October boards and am PRAYING I go to COT in January!

morgan_porgan--Our board was a little different than most. We were supposed to find out about 3 weeks after the board met but because the powers that be didn't have their information together, we had to wait about a month after we were supposed to find out. But now that all the financial information has been worked out, I don't suspect there will be such a waiting game until FY16 comes about, though I could be wrong.

I haven't officially gotten my orders yet. But I learned all the details of my orders when I found out I was selected. I think you don't get your actual orders until its close to departure time, but again, I could be wrong. Good luck! Let us know how it turns out.

Hi all! Congrats on being selected! I'm a HPSP recipient who just finished my WHNP program in August. I'm excited to finally be done with school and get started with the AF! I will be attending COT in January and my duty station will be Keesler AFB. Looking forward to getting to know you all in the next few months!
