You also need to look into the dispersal schedule for the bonus. Depending on which bonus and the size of the bonus dispersement is different. When my wife went into the AF nurse Corps 4 years ago the bonus was only 10K and it was paid in one lump sum after COT. With the $ value being so high now, they might be giving a percentage after COT and disperse the remainder equally over the next 4 years (once a year).
I graduate in may from nursing school and plan to apply for OTS. I have about $30,000 in loans so I want to definitely take advantage of the loan repayment program.
Do you know, would I be able to take advantage of the loan repayment and the bonus? Or is it a choice of one or the other?
Either way looking forward to going back in, was an AF medical specialist prior to going back to college :nuke:

I took both and signed a 6 year commitment. So yes, you can do both.

Has anyone heard what the new air force incentives are for 2009????? Will the student loan repayment continue???? What about sign on bonuses????? Has anyone heard any news from their recruiter since October??????
