Yeah After one long year exactly, my recruiter informed me that I was selected Jan 20. So i will be going to COT mar 2009. Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello Everyone, I was notified by my recruiter that the Airforce boards will meet Jan 20- 23, results will be know by Feb 5, 2009. The sign-on bonus is now less. It is 20,000 with loan repayment, and 30,000 without loan repayment, yes it will be taxed. later Cat2008

How can we do it ourselves,,,,,,,, we are trusting that they are trained, and functional in their position as a recruiter????????? wow! Well at least you have an update maybe your paperwork can move forward now..................

Hey, I understand exactly where you are, and what your experiencing. I wonder what could we do to help the Airforce process smoother? Is there anyone that we could give our written experience to, so that they may develope a more thorough protocols, logical time frames, and accountability of the recruiters............................................... What can we do so that this will not be staus quo.........just how it is......or what i went throught, though tortuous, you to must endure the same broken process..................................................... There should be something we can do to make the process functional and sane......................................................................

I wonder why this is a common practice in the Airforce? Each day there is something new my recruiter forgot to send to the board, then he ask me if I have it? There should be written protocols, and each system should help one other on the common goal, of doing things legitimate, but as expedient as possible.

I am not sure of your question, I applied for active duty Airforce.

I understand, i started the process Jan 2008, and my packet was sent to the board Nov13, but i just found out today that they need more information 3 weeks ago. My recruiter was on leave and did not check his email. i feel like just giving up, and doing something else. With all the lost paper and everthing this is much past frustrating...............................................

With the Va, you should NOT call. It is prudent to go there in person, and find out what level they are at with your paperwork.

I know, and to answer your question they do have major issues with recruitment. Some Va's are better than others. But ask around, I'm sure many will agree it is a long process and most of it due to misplaced paper work. The benefits are great, I must admit, and the pay. But, keep your options open. There is a culture here that times time getting use to also. The computer system is great, however, some of the attitudes are not, and the professionalism. But, if it is what you want many have toughed it out. I wish you the best!
