Ahpra application refusal

Published

Hi everyone,

I´m a registered nurse from Germany with 4 years experience. Went to the whole registration process with ahpra and waited 7 months. Today I received an email, that they are considering to refuse my application. The reason for that is, that they do not consider my training as equivalent with the Australian one. That is really a joke. Has someone ever been in this situation before? How did you write your appeal letter?

The probles is that meanwhile I am working as a carer in a nursing home wasting my skills, my time, my money and my mental health...:nailbiting:

As we all do in Oz...

Hi has anyone recently been successful with an appeal? I am a uk nurse and moved out to australia, but been waiting for my reg for 12 months only to be given a refusal letter. i got refused registration on the basis of having a diploma. if anyone has any information that could help my appeal [email protected]

Hi all, I'm a Swedish nurse about to apply to AHPRA. But after reading this forum I have become extremely anxious and nervous. Has anyone heard of anyone from Sweden making it through to registration? I feel like no-one except UK/Irish/NZ nurses are registering under this new system...

do you think we should appeal ?

Dear Lisbeth,

Have been reading this thread with great interest and as my partner and I are going through the registration process. It would be a great help if you could forward us your information as well!

Hope you are still connected to this website!

Just to update the interested ones of you. AHPRA has created a Task Force for before 02/2014 ANMAC approved intl. nurses to find a solution for them. However, what the solution will be and when it will be is still open. Typically AHPRA.

Danish nurse here- been waiting since feb. Write me an email- have some useful information for you if interested..

Has anybody heard any recent news from AHPRA on registering AQF5 nurses that were caught out by the change? The last we heard nurses that were AQF6 were allowed to register without a bridging course and then we received a later email saying AQF5 nurses didn't get offered any solutions. Does anybody know if AHPRA is still working on the problem for AQF5 nurses?

No news, same letter.

Sorry to hear it, does anybody know how many people are in this situation at the AQF5 level? It seems like there were enough people at AQF6 to get some movement but there doesn't seem to be a willingness to act on people in an AQF5. After being told that they were looking at finding a fair solution for people in this situation it is ridiculous that AQF6s get waved through but AQF5s get told to get credits for study.
