Is any one familiar with Temps Inc? It's an agency and when I called them, they asked me what salary I expect and when I mentioned a figure, they said that they will try to get me a client that can pay in that range. Is this a ligitimate agency?
I am a new grad looking for a quick way to pay my students loans without breaking my back. They said they have a lot of opportunities and most contracts are 13 weeks long but can be extended at the same facility.
Are agencies genuine or do they rip you off?

Are you a new grad? I thought agencies wouldn't hire new grads as you will not get a NG orientation? If you are a NG I would be very careful as the hospital staff is going to expect you to come in and get to work with very little transition time and that is why they called the agency.
Other than that I have heard great things about agency work. Nurses that like autonomy I think do great. Good Luck!

Please get experience as a nurse before starting as an agency nurse.I would like to comment on Temps, Inc. I had a bad experience with this agency. They want to bill $48-65 hr to facilities and pay agency nurses $28-29 hr on the weekend.Yes as a RN at at a hospital. The hospital staf nurses working weekend option nurses were making about $35-40hr.You can tell them that your not available on certain days. Its as if they take it personal. If you cant work when they want you to work they will not find you any work. They dont confirm your shifts on occassions and you go to the facility and they want to cheat you on your show up time. They will constantly call you for staffing and only really find maybe 16 hours a week.I found out a nurse going to the same facility who worked at temps that she was going to was making $6 hr more at the same facility. They will question you repeatly and try to find out about where other agencies send you. They will promise you a contract, but they will only give you daily staffing.
I got tired of all their lies.
