Thank you for your response. Why does the program state you may not work for staffing agencies ( not in regards to travel assignments)... My counselor asked if I would be working for the ins. co. or the agency... Who would be my employer. It seems they did not want my employment with the agency (the ins. co. pays the agency who then pays me)
A healthcare recruitment agency that finds candidates for health Insur companies( Artna,Humana,United, ect),hospitals, hospice and home health will call you for an interview,. If they feel you are a fit, they set up an interview for you with the health Insur Co, let's say Artna. If hired, I will be doing chart reviews for compliance, following up on pts with calls to see if they are for example utilizing gym membership thru their health insur( they are overweight and diabetic).... I will then educate them or offer to find other means to gain health. I will be in an area with several other nurses doing this. I will also have a nurse supervisor at all times to assist us. They pay a fee to the staffing agency for finding me... It is a year contract with possibility of full time permanent position.
The way I read it is that "no agency work" means no home health, or traveling (also a lot of larger hospital systems seem to be creating their own "staffing agency" that works solely for their network of hospitals, which might also be considered the traditional nix on agency work. Honestly, I would not want to do those right now, because i don't care to intentionally position myself to have to explain my mental health and all assorted bull to someone, every 13 weeks. Once was enough, thank you. Besides, re entry into nursing after dealing with the gauntlet of this **** is bad enough. I don't want to be the newbie multiple times, too.
That being said, that this is a "nonclinical" no direct patient access position with other nurses around, the fact that you found the position through an agency seems non relevant. Correct me if i am wrong, most positions like this are hired through agencies.
I think these programs are structured for the nurse that works the most common three 12hr days per week shift. Any of us that do otherwise, M-F, 8hrs, etc. are pretty much up a creek.
I would approach your case manager and ask for some clarification.

Why can we not work for agencies during our re-entry into nursing?
