Nursing Students Male Students

I am strongly considering a career change into nursing. I have been a firefighter/paramedic for 15 years and am ready to move on. There is a bridge program at a school near me for medic to RN.

My question is about age, I just turned 44 so would be probably almost 46 before I finish. Does there seem to be newer older nurses? I do have emergency experience but don't wanna be fishing for a job after all that schooling. I know theres truly no way to tell, just looking for opinions. Thanks in advance.

52 and way ahead of the curve with ambition and love the challenge.

Rock on dudes.

Right on Bill.

There is still hope for me.

You just shot my inspiration level through the roof.

Started ADN in JAN at age 56. Turn 57 in JUN. Will graduate APR2016. I'm in Northeast Florida and our school (Keiser) has a 100% hire rate (statistically, not guaranteed). Our last Cohort had a 100% NCLEX pass-rate. I'm also told that male RN's are pretty much guaranteed a job. I'm pretty confident getting a job won't be too hard. And being experienced as you are, is a big help. You won't have the perpetual deer-in-the-headlight look that most of the newbies have.

I just started my last two years and I am 67. Any one older? Love to talk

Billy

I guess I am young compared to you!!!!!!
