Hey Everyone,
I put in my final application this past January after a long 9 months of working on it! On February 3rd, I got the acceptance letter to accept my commission into NTP for Fiscal Year of 2011. No placement or COT dates yet because my recruiter says they still are not determined yet. Any one else in the same boat as me? I'm graduating in May, so I still have a while, but I'd love to know soon what month I leave for COT! I'm a bit confused as why they did it this way, and I'm hoping for some moral support! If you have any info as to what you've completed so far too if you were accepted this month too, I'd greatly appreciate to hear your story!
Thanks!

There are a million stories just like yours. Read around on here. lol. It is a frustrating job to get into the military. Some people graduated May 2009 and are just now leaving in March or May. They waited longer than expected to even get their confirmation letters. You are not alone. All the branches seem to have the same slow process so take heart. As for me, my app went in back in October, I don't even have word that I'm even accepted. I expected to hear in December. Be glad you at least know you are accepted.
After you graduate, look for a job. Keep your mouth closed about going into the military and get all the experience you can.

Mid's right - when you graduate, take a job if you can find one - any job (do be careful, though, because sometimes you can be required to complete a lengthy preceptorship and/or orientation) because any experience is better than none.
I'm an active duty Air Force nurse who went to COT last year. I believe the COT dates are published in April or late March; I can't remember right off the top of my head. So you should have a date in a couple of months or so.
But like mid said - you're going, and that's truly better than half the battle!

Hey, I have friend who was accepted as part of the Jan board is still waiting on a COT date and NTP placement. Good luck waiting. It was bizarre though, my package went to the board today and I got a call today from AFPC about my acceptance. I am not just waiting on a waiver to get a joint assignment with my husband, if all goes well I have an anticipated Jan 2011 COT date, if not I will have to get 1.5 years more of experience and then commission. Good luck everyone! It is so worth the wait!
What do you mean by 1.5 more years of experience? I'm a bit confused.

He's probably up for a new assignment in 1.5 years. They want joint assignments.
My husband has orders to move this summer, for a 4 year assignment. I am coming into the AF as a fully-qualified clinical nurse. The problem lies that the base we are going to is only a clinic. The AF wants nurses to have 3 years of experience to work at a clinic, I only have 1.5. So, in order for me to get stationed with him I need a waiver, or I can get another 1.5 years experience in the civilian world and then go active duty if the waiver does not go through. It is still a win-win situation I think. Good Luck!
Interesting - because I know new RNs working in clinics here at Lackland.
Yeah, there are lots of new RN's in clinics. AFPC said that they do waivers for this situation all the time.
