Ae there lpn jobs in Canada/BC?

Published

Hi! Is anyone an LPN or new LPN grad in BC Canada? If so do you know if its difficult to find a job? I am thinking of going to school to become an LPN but am wary about the job prospects...

At the moment, job prospects are slim across the country for new grad LPNs and RNs, due to budget cutbacks, hiring freezes and restructuring. BC AB and ON and Nfld are laying nurses off at the moment. However, nursing is cyclical and this will change. In another 6 months to a year, there may be more jobs opening up.

If you want to be a nurse, don't let that deter you, but beware. Working conditions are far from ideal. If I knew then what I know now, I would have taken physio or OT. Same money, better hours, less stress. But you need to do what's best for you. Start researching in order to make an informed decision.
