Advise regarding how to make a living while in clinicals

Published

Does anyone have any advice as to how they juggled both work and clinicals? I know that it will be difficult but it can be done. I am only looking to work PT like at the most 25 hours a week. I currently work in a hospital doing registration. I'm hoping my boss will work with me but she said she's not sure what she will be able to do. I don't start until another yr so I'm definitely going to start saving but I really need some advice! Please help! What did you do?

I haven't started clinicals yet but I know a lot of people worked at 24 hour places, such as gas stations, restaurants, etc. they aren't ideal but you could get night shift which gives you more options than a 9-5 m-f. Maybe look into any other open jobs at your hospital like unit secretary? they may have night shifts as well. Good luck!

Look into your local DDD(Dept of Dev. Disabilities). They are always looking for people to do respite for children and adults who are disabled. You can set your own hours and it pays better than minimum wage. Also, it would be a great work experience with those who are disabled.

I got hired with the knowledge that they must work around my school schedule. I work as a CNA at a hospital on the weekends. Works out great because I NEVER have school on the weekends.
