Is there anyone here that can give me advice on how to cope up with my depression and anxiety? I have recently took the NCLEX PN and it was my 5th time that I failed it... I am at the point of giving up this career.. I really dont know what to do I am so lost and have too much going on too. I just got laid off due to budget cuts I am unemployed and was thinking of starting to review for the Nclex Pn Boards. Unfortunately everytime I will start my review I will just stop in the middle and thinking of where did I go wrong I have done what i am supposed to do but I guess Nursing is not for me.... PLEASE HELP ME SHOULD I QUIT? SHOULD I START A NEW PATH I NEED TO OVERCOME THIS IT AFFECTS MY DAILY LIVING SO BAD EVEN MY FAMILY WAS AFFECTED.

Don't give up! You've gone so far and finish college. You just need to push one more step to be able to call yourself a nurse. I would say, just move forward and don't look back. You have to be strong and try your best to overcome one of so many obstacles in life. Just try look at your CPR and check where you should focus. Focus on your weakest. Have you tried Kaplan strategies? Have you went back and review your lab values? Have you gone back to brush up your content of your lacking on content? I myself failed my nclex first time, I feel depressed and always ask why I failed and want to stop and change my path. However, I come to realized that I invested so much and I really want to be a nurse. So although I feel down and depressed, I always pray to GOD to guide me, give me knowledge, wisdom, and encouragement to purse my dreams and conquer nclex. Anyway, I hope you take a break and pray to GOD. When you go back studying, read all the rationales, take notes. If you don't understand google it and read through it. Use Kaplan strategies. Know you ABC, priorities, delegations, and infection control. Also, make a flush cards for meds. Use the family name such as beta blockers end with olol
And look for the common side effect for each of the family and right the unique of each of the medications. Plus! There's a study guides that are going around. Again, failing is part of life. If we fail, try to stand up and move forward. Don't let failure stop you from moving forward. God bless and always tell to yourself! You can pass the nclex!

We can not give medical advice and that includes hadvice on coping with your depression as per the Terms of Service of the site. If it is making you feel you need help then please speak to your medical provider.
In regards to studying for the exam there are many threads here that people have posted that explains what worked for them. My suggestion is if possible set aside a couple of hours a day that is just for study, tell people not to ring you during this time and if necessary ignore the door and phone and practice questions and read the rationale and that includes questions you get right. Only study up on a subject if you are struggling answering the questions

Missy8 don't give up. I have felt the same your feeling i fail my nclex too but it not the end of the world
Keep studying and set a time everyday to just study make it a goal to do Question trainer not less than 100 qs a day also make your own personal notes in hand written. Like someone said turn off anything that may interrupt your study time. When i did mines i had i turned off my cellphone all day and deactivate any of my websocial interaction.
Going to the gym and have a regular routine of exercise helps your body to release endorphins that aids in coping up stressful situation.
In my experienced whenever i kinda feel tired and bored in the middle of the day studying i go for a run in the track field or treadmill and sweat. It helps me cope up with stress but overall prayer to God and meditations in His words are very important key to success.
Do not give up you can pass that exam.Stay focus!!!! God bless you
