First day of nursing school will be jan 12th but I'm afraid I won't be able to attend because my father has an appointment that day that I have to cone with mandatory and there is no way whatsoever of rescheduling it is vitally important that we go! I was wondering if I would miss alot of information on just that day alone and what can I do to not give the instructor a bad impression. I was thinking of going for an hour before our appointment to at least show up! I'm really nervous about this and I hope this doesn't take a toll on my final nursing experience and grade on my class even though it's only one day 1 class I still hate to do this but I have no way around this any suggestions!

You won't miss a whole lot - you usually just go over the syllabi and the expectations of the course - something that you can do in your own time. You might go over a chapter or two of notes, but that can be easily made up. I would just e-mail your instructor(s) in advance and explain your situation.

Definitely notify your professor in advance! Let him or her know the situation and make sure you express your enthusiasm about starting the program. As for what you will miss, it probably depends on the teacher. Some like to just go over the syllabus but others tend to dive right in. Might be different for NS though, I'm starting Jan 10:yeah:

Im sure it all depends on your instructors. My classes were all three hours long so needless to say we dove right in. Make sure you notify all of your instructors before hand and ask them what you will miss and do that before hand so you wont fall behind. Good luck!!
