Advice about two undergraduate degrees

Published

So I will be graduating from a compressed nursing program in 8 months and was wondering what to do next. I spent 3 years in a health studies program and need 5 courses to finish that degree. Unfortunately, taking all those courses will take me another year after I graduate because they are not all offered in one term.

So I have two options. What I ultimately want to do is go to the States and do a Master's degree from there. But I'm not sure if I will have any benefit from finishing my health studies degree. I want to go into mental health eventually which is why I want to do a psych nurse practitioner program in the States. So I don't know if I should start getting some experience and get a head start on the Master's or stick back for another year so that I have that other degree under my belt.

Get the experience for now. Finish the rest later...if possible

I only have a two year period to finish the degree after I am done, so it's now or never.

I'd say, get the degree if you think it will always nag at you. You're only 5 courses away, I think that would nag at me too. The master's programs in the US will be here when you're finished and as you said, you only have 2 years to finish the degree or risk it being lost forever. Just my opinion, good luck! :)
