 I am done with Microbiology this summer and will have all my pre-reqs done for the nursing program. Can anyone give me some advice as to how to start my nursing school career? I am starting the ADN program in August. Also, how to prepare for the following semesters? All advice is greatly appreciated!!

Welcome and congratulations on starting the ADN program in August.

As this will be my first RN clinical semester coming up in August too, I know we have a list of Skills to be validated and I am going over them. I am looking through a Physical Exam and Health Assessment book and a Fundamental of Nursing book as well. I will start practicing more on Conversion problems and such. I have a Pharmacolgy book that will help me with this.

I will be looking forward to more replies to this thread as well.

I must say I am excited and nervous. This is my first semester off in 5 straight semesters (doing my pre-reqs and general courses) and I don't know what to do since I am used to studying and worrying some too. I find myself on the BB more and this can become an "addiction", but fun and informative as well!

Again, welcome and congratulations!

Congrats to you!

I will be starting the ADN program in the Fall as well. I am preparing by previewing my class materials/books etc. I also borrowed a clinical calculations book from my friend. I figured since math is not my most favorite thing in the world, I might as well start reviewing and practing conversions etc. I also love to browse the BB's here and read about the expierences that the others have had. Many of the post/threads are very insightful, and helpful.

Good luck to all future RN's of America!
