Advice for Rady Children's Hospital job

Published

Hello!

I was wondering if anyone had any advice regarding employment at Rady Children's Hospital. I have been applying to various per diem jobs for a few months now and I haven't moved past the "submitted" stage on my portal. No calls or interviews, unfortunately. I am a nursing student in my final semester and I have been trying to get a Patient Care Assistant job (or any per diem job) to get my foot in the door and gain some additional experience as I am hoping to get into their New Graduate RN residency program after graduation.

I was hoping to hear from others' experience with this Children's Hospital. Is there anything I can do to increase my chances of getting at least a call back/ interview? Thank you in advance!

Following,

I’m in the same situation. I’ve applied for a PACU position weeks ago my application just says “submitted ‘. Any advice would be appreciated

update

I applied to a edtc at Rady 2 weeks ago and I was emailed today to set up a interview my application status never changed from "submitted" . also the PACU position i applied for 4 weeks ago i never got any response for , so i think it depends on the position .

Thank you so much for sending me an update! I unfortunately never heard back, I must not have made the cut. ? Best of luck moving forward, I will be keeping my fingers crossed for you!

Thank you ? I have a video interview set up for February 20th. My advice don’t give up it took three applications in before I heard anything.

that's amazing!! If you don't mind me asking, what was the edtc position? I haven't heard of that. I've been applying to PCA positions and transport positions since Septemer, I'm at 8 applications so far and they probably think I'm a crazy person! I would have loved to get more experience because I am applying to their new grad RN program this summer.

Emergency Department Trauma Center ,or ER sorry for the confusion where I work now we all call it that. The position is for a full time rotating ER rn, I’m relocating from wisconsin to San Diego and currently work at a pediatric emergency here for the last 19 years. I also applied for a PACU and a CVOR position but haven’t heard back. I’m excited about the ER interview but also still hoping to hear from the OR , trying not to be greedy a bird in the hand and all

@hollidc Oh that's awesome! I've had classmates rotate through their ED and they loved it, but I definitely still understand what it's like to hope to hear from other units. I hope it works out, it's hard not to love San Diego ?
