Well I'm almost done with all my pre-reqs. So far I've taken Chem(A), Eng(B) and a Computer class(A). I'll be taking A&P1, and a math course for Spring, and then hopefully I can apply to nursing programs in November. I'm excited, and scared. More than anything what I want, and need is to achieve excellence in both courses. I have to admit after reading some of these posts I am a little intimidated. Anyone have any tips, or advice.Thank you in advance.:)

I suppose as prospective nursing students, we're both paranoid. If you're looking for advice for A&P or Math, the best I can tell you is don't procrastinate and make sure to find a good study partner or two! Both subjects can be a royal pain if you're not careful to stay on top of them. I found a good study partner and religiously called her (and vice versa) when problems surfaced. Don't be afraid of YouTube for those silly songs that helped us all remember A&P!! I still sing them.

If you find yourself sinking in A&P and math, get help with them before you sink to deep. If you know what I mean. :doh:Just do and try your best in your classes, thats all anyone can ask honestly. Take your education seriously, and also enjoy it. Its natural to be nervous and anxious. I'm sure we all are at one point or another.
Ask questions during class and ask for help when you need it. If you enjoy study groups and feel you'll benefit from that, by all means study with others. Ask students in your class for tips and advice too. I know when I was in school finishing my prereqs, that I'd study a little bit each day after my classes to keep the information fresh in my mind. So, when exam time rolled around I wasn't in a panic.
When you're in A&P and in lab, try and stay there as late as you can and study. Sometimes thats not always possible, due to other classes and such. But, I felt that I always needed more time to look and study the material we were studying. Sometimes, two hours in lab isn't enough time especially when considering the practical exams for A&P. Plus, the instructor may be there and he/she will be able to assist you more one on one when you really need help.
Good luck in school :)
