Advice please with new job?

Published

Hello! I'd like some advice from you seasoned nurses out there. I'm currently on orientation in a new job I'm indifferent about but now my dream job (that I applied to many months ago) just emailed me to interview for a part time position and I don't know what to do!

My question is: should I interview anyway? If I get this job I would be making about 1500 less because it's only part time. I do want stability but then again it's my dream job so I really don't know what to do... I'm in a twist!

Advice would be appreciated, thank you!

I would only consider it if the job were truly near perfection and the lower income is no problem for you. If you got offered an interview once, you will get offered an interview again -- perhaps under better circumstances when they had a full time position available for you.

If you are truly conflicted about it and can't walk away ... do the interview. But don't give up a solid job that is OK unless the new job is fantastic and the money is no problem.

Thank you so much for your advice. I've decided to just do the interview and see for myself how the job is. I'll definitely take your feelings into account not to give up a solid job for the part time dream one!

Dream job opportunities do not present themselves everyday. A PT job can often become a FT job; I say go for it! Good luck!
