Hey, I remember you from the Ga thread. I have a friend who just started the nursing program at Southern. She got in with a 3.5. So I wouldn't worry at all. Just try to stand out in the essay or whatever else they might require. I wouldn't retake the HESI, your score is already way above average. Just relax and have faith!
Miiki SN: That's true. The reason I ask is because they only focus on GPA, HESI, and the essay. We don't need volunteer work (I'm still volunteering), letters of recommendation, or anything.
meeep: Yes, that was me! That's good to hear. I still have hope. Lol. Perhaps if I don't make all A's this semester I will retake the HESI, other than that I probably will leave my score as is because you're right, it is above average.
Thanks for responding guys, now my primary focus will be on the essay.

Hello everyone,
I went to advisement today to go over my classes for Spring '14 and talk about a few things with my advisor. We talked about me applying to the program in February. I asked her what the average GPA for acceptance was for the class that recently started (accepted for Fall '13), and the average was 3.86. It was 3.8 when I started my freshman year-I'm now a sophomore.
Basically it seems like it's getting more competitive each semester. As of now I have a 3.74 GPA, will be 3.8 when I apply if I get all A's this semester (which is looking good right now). I also made a 95 on the HESI.
Since there's nothing more I can do to boost my GPA past 3.8 before I apply, my question is, do you guys think my application would be more competitive if I improved my HESI score? I made a good score the first time but I'm willing to re-take if it could increase my chances of getting accepted.
Any input would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
