Advice On Starting This Journey

Published

Hello everyone! I need some advice. I recently graduated with a Bachelors in Business in May and I am starting pre-reqs at a community college in January. I am planning on applying to nursing programs after that.

I started a new job in August as an Office Assistant but I recently learned of an opportunity of a LNA trainee position at a hospital in my area. They pay for the course and the test and upon completion of the program you work within a certain unit at the hospital. The issue I am having is trying to balance all of this...the LNA opportunity doesn't pay as much which is a concern only because of finances, rent & bills ect. And the course is 5 weeks long and runs Monday-Friday during the day which my current job is 8-5.

I don't know if I should stay at my current job for a year to show on my résumé that I am able to stay with a job, start pre-reqs in January and focus solely on that and come back to a LNA program after that? Or if I should try for the LNA trainee position because I want to gain experience before applying for nursing school. I found another LNA program which I would pay for myself and there wouldn't be guaranteed job upon completion unlike this opportunity through the hospital.

I just feel like I want to do everything all at once & make everything work for right now because I am eager to get started on this journey! Any advice I would greatly appreciate!
