Hi all... Glad I found this site! I have a few questions about studying abroad in St Kitts at Internation University of Nursing (Robert Ross)

Can you get a job with this degree in canada? I live in toronto... It is an Associates degree from 1 yr in the carribean and 1 yr in the states. Has anyone done it?

Thanks

I have many things to say about IUON please private message me. Best of Luck.

Hello, I came across your comments about the nursing school in St. Kitts. How did it work out for you? Was it hard to find housing? I don't know if you'll receive this or not, but I was really interested in how you made out. If you would suggest this school to another? Thanks in advance.

Im sorry but i would not suggest this school. . I do not believe that they are helpful to thier students. I have many issues with the school that i will choose not to speak about becuase it would just be a wild rant, but honestly i woulnt recomment this school to anyone. In a few years maybe but at this point they do not have organization that you would suspect. i suggest that if you are having a hard time getting into a program you apply to accredited schools in various states. I hope you take the time to do some research and make a choice that works for you.

Thanks for heads up. As usual, what seems too good to be true, usually is. Thanks again.

what are the affiliate schools

I Just Applied To Iuon. I Am Sooo Nervous. What Questions Do They Ask On The Phone Interview? How Hard Is The Program. Can You Tell Me About It? Do We Get Breaks In Between Semesters? Hows The Workload? Id Appericate All Info You Can Give Me. Thanks So Much Tracy.

I Just Applied To Iuon, Can You Please Tell Me About It. Thank You Tracy

I Have Many Many Questions About Iuon, And The Program. .... How Is Living On The Island? Is The Housing Nice? How Hard Is The Program? What School Did You Choose In The Us? Is It An Automatic Transfer From Iuon, Or Is There Waiting. Are You Glad You Choose To Go There? Any Info Will Help. Thanks Tracy.

how is school going did you ever finish?

Hi,

I currently attend IUON, the degrees that you will receive will be an associates in nursing from an accredited school in the US and also from IUON(im not sure about the rules for practice in canada with a US license, that you will have to research), but i really dont think it will be a problem. Most importantly, you will be able to sit for the NCLEX exam after completing the program in order to obtain a license. Yes there are two degrees, but the degree from the US school is the more valuable of the two, because the school is still seeking accreditation, whereas the affiliate schools already has it. Hope this helps you. . . email me at anytime if you have anymore questions.

I just wanted to know if you would recommend this school? and what problems you encountered along the way?

i currently am attending iuon. i'm a 3rd sem student in the BSN program. the crime is the same as it is in the states. the rule is to act the same way you would back home and you'll be ok. lock doors, close your windows, don't leave valuables lying around.

the amount of time you do in the us depends on which degree you are going for. if it is ADN you have to do 3 sem at one of the partner schools. if it is BSN then it's 2 sem in the partner school.

if you have anymore questions just ask! i'l be more than happy to answer as best i can

Hello Everyone,

Well after aspiring in Cali for many months, I was accepted into IUON (now Robert Ross International Universtiy of Nursing) for the Spring 2008 BSN program.

The situation I personally found myself in was dire. In California as we all know it's cut throat to find a spot anywhere. Yes its a long way away, a lot of student debt,(@100k) and not a traditional approach. I took some time looked at options(or lack there of) and am taking a shot. I have no concerns about it bieng a soild program and the partner school (Grand Canyon U.) is a established.

I owe everyone who posted on here some thanks and will share my experience and thoughts as I continue on this journey. Please email me with any questions and I will be happy to answer honestly.

Cant wait to put in my two weeks! No more 9-5 cubicle, cool car, nice apt, luxury lifestyle. Its back to broke(in debt), ramen, 89 civic, roommates, student life !!! :balloons:

I would love to hear about ur journey I know it is a sacrafice

do you have any kids or a husband? and if so how do you plan to get around that?

will it really cost about $100 K? I was thinking about this also but wanted to get someone elses opinion first. DO you have transfer credit so you wont be at the college so long.
