Advice for new RN

As a soon to be RN graduate is there any advice that you can give, that you yourselves wished you had known prior to being employed as an RN?

I'm a recent new grad who just got hired and my piece of advise would be to join a residency program....if you want proper training and your are one of those people that needs to know whats going on before you actually get put on the spot. If I had to go back I would probably do this....now all I have to do....is learn from my experiences as much as I can...."sink or swim" kind of deal.

What is a residency program? When you first started did you feel like you didn't know anything? Have you had a good experience so far?

Nurse residencies offer additional training in the hospital with classes and a preceptor. Here's a great thread with info
